Sheep killed and heads left behind in Staffordshire

A number of sheep have been killed in a field in Staffordshire, with the culprits leaving behind fleece and heads.

Offenders have professionally butchered the flock of sheep after cutting the fencing to the field near to the A5 and Chester Road.

They gained access to the area from the A5 through a wheat field by cutting fencing and have then been able to get to the animals with a vehicle.

All the meet was taken and the culprits only left behind fleece, intestines, stomachs and heads.

The offence is believed to have taken place some time between April 3 and 5.

Staffordshire Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward quoting log number 682 of April 5.

Officers also warned members of the public to note any suspicious vehicles around fields of sheep at night and call 101.
