Four arrests and drugs seized during Cannock raids

Four people have been arrested and drugs, weapons and more than £7,000 in cash seized during raids carried out in Cannock.

Staffordshire Police executed seven warrants at addresses in the Cannock area, between April 1 and April 5.

A large quantity of class A and class B drugs, weapons and more than £7,000 in cash were seized during the warrants, as well as six off-road bikes as part of a crackdown on illegal off-road riding.

Two men, aged 33 and 34 both from Cannock, were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences. A 29-year-old man, also from Cannock, was also arrested on suspicion of drugs and driving offences.

All three have been released under investigation, while enquiries continue.

Leon Sey, 28, of Heath Street, Hednesford, was charged with two counts of being concerned in the production of a controlled drug – class B. He has been remanded until his next court appearance.

The warrants were carried out at homes in Greenheath Road, Edward Street, Walsall Road, Heath Street, Winding House Drive, Adelaide Drive and Glovers Close.

Chief Inspector Sarah Wainwright, neighbourhood commander for Cannock, said: "This was a significant operation and I’m grateful to all of the staff involved in this successful week of action.

“We have listened to our local communities and have acted upon intelligence-led information. I hope that the community feel reassured by last week’s outcome and I would continue to urge people to come forward and work with the police with any information they may have.

“All of this activity also forms part of a wider partnership commitment to help reduce crime in Cannock.”
