Man suffers serious head injury after disorder at West Bromwich pub
A 29-year-old man is in hospital with a serious head injury after being knocked unconscious following disorder at a Black Country pub.
Police were called to the Fox & Goose pub in Greets Green Road, West Bromwich, at 7.55pm yesterday.
A 34-year-old man, from Rowley Regis, has been arrested on suspicion of wounding.
West Midlands Police is urging anyone with information to get in touch.
A police spokesman said: "Police were alerted by ambulance colleagues at 7.55pm last night (5 April) to a disorder at the Fox & Goose pub in Greets Green Road, West Bromwich, and a man found unconscious with a serious head injury.
"The man, aged 29, remains in hospital in a serious condition. A 34-year-old man from Rowley Regis has been arrested on suspicion of wounding and is in police custody for questioning."
The road was sealed off outside the pub last night as police launched an investigation.
A blue tent was set up and remained there this morning as police continued to investigate the incident.
Photographer John Kennett, who was at the scene, tweeted: "Fight broke out just down from Fox & Goose police cordon in place, pub remains open."
Video footage showed the road was closed off by police last night as officers arrived at the scene.
Police cars with blue lights flashing were parked outside the pub while blue tape was placed across the road.
The police spokesman added: "Anyone who was at the pub last night and may have witnessed an argument or the disorder is asked to call WMP on 101 quoting log number 2441 from 5 April or Live Chat at WMP Online between 8am and midnight. Alternatively call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
