Andjele Vranjes, aged 27, of Beakes Road, Bearwood, will appear before court on April 25 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

Vranjes allegedly struck Jannatul Bakya in Smethwick on July 28, while she was crossing Oldbury Road with her father and was heading to a mosque.

The schoolgirl was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash, which happened at about 10.50pm.

Vranjes, who was allegedly driving a Ford Fiesta, was arrested by police shortly afterwards.

She appeared before Walsall Magistrates’ Court today only to confirm her name and address.

She was granted unconditional bail ahead of her next court appearance in Wolverhampton.
