Man arrested for murder of Cameron Wilkinson
A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Cameron Wilkinson in Wolverhampton.
The 24-year-old man handed himself into police on Tuesday and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder.
He has been bailed with strict conditions while enquiries continue.
Mr Wilkinson was found with serious injuries in Chadwick Close, in the Merry Hill area, on Tuesday, February 19.
Despite the best efforts of medics, the 26-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.20pm.
Detective Inspector Hannah Whitehouse, from West Midlands Police's homicide team, said: "A man has sadly lost his life and we are continuously working to establish the circumstances around what happened.
"Although this arrest marks a significant step in our investigation we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have any information about what happened."
Following Cameron's death, his devastated sisters paid tribute to him as a 'loving, funny and caring person'. Floral tributes were left at the scene and family and friends let off fireworks and balloons at the scene.
His tearful nine-year-old niece Skye had read a poem calling him the “best uncle”.
His eldest sister, Emily, 32, said: "We are so devastated by Cameron’s death, I just can’t believe it.
"He was a loving, funny and a caring person. He loved his nieces and nephew.”
His other sister Robyn, 30, said: “He was just the most beautiful, kind man and you wouldn’t see the turnout if he wasn’t, just look at the turn out.”
