Brandon Dickinson, 19, broke into a shed at the back of AED Donate charity shop in High Street, Stone, on November 14 and stole fishing rods and other items donated to the charity and caused approximately £2,500 in damage.

Dickinson, of Runneymede, Stone, pleaded guilty to burglary, breaching a community protection notice, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a knife/bladed article at Cannock Magistrates' Court.

He was also given a 40 week suspended sentence for 18 months including 80 hours unpaid work.

A criminal behaviour order (CBO) was also imposed by the court with two conditions meaning Dickinson cannot use or engage in any conduct within the county of Staffordshire which is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to others, or encourage or incite others to do so. He also cannot enter or attempt to enter Stone town centre and areas surrounding for two years.

He was sentenced at Cannock Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Chief Inspector Gemma Ward, neighbourhood policing team commander for Stafford borough, said: “This is an example of our zero tolerance approach to those that cause significant harm within the local community.

"Well done to my team in Stone who have been involved in this case and I hope it gives respite to the local community who have had to endure his behaviour.”
