A teenager was rushed to hospital after being stabbed outside TGI Fridays in Walsall.

The 17-year-old boy was attacked at around 6.20pm outside the Wolverhampton Road restaurant last night.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "Police are investigating after a teen was stabbed in Walsall last night.

"The 17-year-old boy was attacked at around 6.20pm on Wolverhampton Street.

"He sustained a single stab wound to his arm and was taken to hospital, his injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

"No arrests have been made yet but police are urging anyone with any information to get in touch."

Emergency services were called to the scene and the boy was taken to hospital via ambulance for further treatment.

Claire Brown, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to an assault at 6.22pm.

"One ambulance attended and we treated one man who had suffered serious injuries and he was taken to hospital on blue lights for further treatment."

A TGI Fridays spokesman said: “We are aware of a serious incident that took place near to our Walsall restaurant last night and are working with local police to assist in any way we can.”
