Boy, 17, stabbed after gang attack in Walsall

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest in Darlaston after being attacked by a gang of five teenagers.

Police are investigating the incident which happened at about 8.20pm on Saturday night in Rough Hay Road.

The teenager was standing with a 15-year-old when they were approached by a group of five people.

Words were exchanged and the teenager was stabbed once in the chest, while the younger victim was punched.

The group fled towards Hall Street. The 17-year-old victim was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening. The younger of the two did not need treatment.

Police have described the attackers as three white, one black, and one mixed race, all aged between 14 and 17.

Officers are carrying out house to house and CCTV enquiries.
