Carl Moore: Man to stand trial over hit-and-run death

A 33-year-old man will stand trial accused of causing the death of a pedestrian by dangerous driving in Walsall.

Stefan Gvozdenovic, from Lane Avenue, Walsall, is also charged with failing to stop at the scene of the accident in Walsall Wood High Street.

Carl Moore, aged 28, died after he was hit by a 4x4 outside the The Boatman's Rest pub on early Saturday morning.

Mr Gvozdenovic, a plasterer, was remanded in custody after appearing at Walsall Magistrate's Court on Monday.

His next court hearing takes place at Wolverhampton Crown Court on January 2 and he will later appear on trial.

Mr Moore was struck by a Range Rover at around 12.30am on Saturday.

He was rushed to hospital but died shortly after.

Floral tributes were left at the scene from Mr Moore's loved ones.
