Stolen classic car found submerged in river

A classic car which was stolen from a road in West Bromwich has been found in a river.

The classic car was stolen.

The blue Opel Manta was taken from Charlemont Crescent, on the Charlemont estate, last month.

It was found by officers submerged in the River Tame near to the Yew Tree Estate this week.

The blue car, which has the registration number FLP99J, was stolen sometime between 10.45pm on October 2 and 7am on October 3.

The vehicle was first made in the 1970s and production ran until 1988.

Pc Guttridge and Pc O’Connor made the discovery.

Officers from West Bromwich Police tweeted: "Mindless beyond belief. We have found the car submerged in the Tame River near the Yew Tree Estate."
