Daniel Pelechacz suffered a traumatic head injury after he was ejected from Polski Bar Klimat in Temple Street, West Bromwich.

The truck driver, originally from Poland who lived in Potters Lane, Wednesbury, was rushed to hospital in the early hours of September 30, but died two days later from his injury, Black Country Coroner’s Court heard.

Police arrested four men – aged 30, 35, 37 and 39 – on suspicion of murder and released them on bail. Inquiries are ongoing.

Detective Mark Allen, from West Midlands Police, told the court police believed Mr Pelechacz had been assaulted after they arrived at the scene.

Officers found him with facial cuts before he was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

“It was established he suffered a massive head injury,” said Detective Allen.

“He died on October 2. Enquiries led us to believe at the time of the nightclub being closed, he was ejected.

“He was either pushed or kicked from the top of the stairs to the bottom causing his head injuries.

“Following enquiries, police arrested four suspects on suspicion of causing the death of Mr Pelechacz.”

The night club is a first-floor-building and Detective Allen noted the club has a ‘steep flight of stairs’.

Police found Mr Pelechacz propped up against a wall around five to 10 metres from the nightclub’s entrance, said Detective Allen.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a trauma doctor to the scene.

Coroner Zafar Siddique adjourned the inquest until January to await further details from the case, which is still in the early stages and ongoing.
