Richard Helm: Appeal to find Audi linked to Ashmore Park murder

A major appeal has been launched to trace an Audi spotted driving from the scene of a murder in Wolverhampton.

Richard Helm, aged 37, was found stabbed to death in Raven Crescent, Ashmore Park, at around 5.15am on October 12.

Police say a red Audi A3, displaying the partial registration of AV14, was seen leaving the scene around the time of the fatal stab attack.

It is thought to have travelled towards Darlaston. It has not been seen since and detectives need to find it.

Seven people have been arrested in connection with Richard’s murder.

Ashley Wilson, aged 27, from Solihull, and Danny Cooper, 31, from Chelmsley Wood, have been charged with killing Mr Helm.

The pair appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court this morning and were each remanded in custody until a further hearing of the case on December 14 when they will be expected to enter pleas to the charges they face. Both men are accused of murder, criminal damage and arson while Cooper is further charged with two assaults. The pair have been given a provisional trial date of April 23.

Mr Helm was stabbed to death in Raven Crescent, Ashmore Park during the early hours of Friday October 12.

Two others were released with no further action and three people remain on police bail.

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough from the force’s homicide team, said: “We’re making steady progress with this murder investigation, however we really need to find this car.

“I’d urge anyone who may have seen it either during the morning of October 12 or since to get in touch with me or my team.
