An elderly couple were threatened with a knife and screwdriver during a 'terrifying' burglary.

West Midlands Police have issued an appeal

Three men managed to get into the property in Lower Gornal at around 8pm on Tuesday night.

They threatened the man and woman, both aged in their early 70s, before making off with jewellery, cash and other personal belongings.

The couple were left unhurt but shaken by the incident.

Detectives are appealing for any information.

Det Sgt Leighton Shingles, from force CID, said: "This was a terrifying experience for the couple. We are determined to find whoever was responsible and would ask for anyone who saw anything to contact us."
