Police have issued a CCTV appeal to trace a man in connection with the killing.

Officers are investigating a report of a goat having been stolen from a farm, in Hamstall Ridware, near Rugeley, on October 6.

It was taken from the farm, in Yoxall Road, at around 8.40pm.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "We are keen to talk to the man in this image as we believe he may be able help us with our investigation.

"We understand the theft of an animal can be a very emotive experience, so we would ask that anyone with information does not take matters into their own hands and instead contacts the police to assist."

Anyone who knows this man or witnessed any suspicious behaviour are asked to email 04864@staffordshire.pnn.police.uk quoting incident number 185 of October 7.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
