Murder-accused appears in court with black eyes after Brierley Hill stabbing
A murder suspect sporting two black eyes has appeared in court.
Glen Elvin was escorted into the dock in handcuffs by two security staff at Dudley Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
It comes after he was charged with murdering Christopher Harm, who died in Brierley Hill's Engine Lane at about 1am on Saturday.
The 25-year-old, who was wearing a grey T-Shirt and bottoms, spoke only to confirm his details.
A post mortem examination concluded father Mr Harm died of a single stab wound.
His family paid tribute following the 25-year-old's death and said: “A loving son, dad and brother gone so tragically and a family left in pieces forever."
Police also arrested two other men following Mr Harm's death but they were released with no further action.
Officers placed a cordon at the scene, near The Waterfront and opposite Merry Hill shopping centre, during their investigations.
Elvin, of Fern Avenue, Stanley, is due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Wednesday.
