Dudley drugs suspect 'caught with crack, cash, keys and meat cleaver'

A Black Country man has been arrested after police allegedly found him with crack cocaine, a meat cleaver and keys for several stolen cars.

The man was found in Nuneaton by Warwickshire Police

Officers went to an address on Church Road in Nuneaton as part of a separate inquiry on August 30, but then found the 22-year-old from Dudley acting suspiciously.

After searching him they seized a quantity of a drug believed to be crack cocaine, a meat cleaver, cash, and several mobile phones.

Two car keys belonging to cars stolen from Coventry and Dudley were also seized.

The man was arrested on on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply, but has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Chris Cook said: "There is no doubting the harmful affect drug dealing has on our communities.

"Our message is clear: we are committed to tackling the supply of drugs and we will target anyone we suspect is involved in dealing.

"The support of the public is vital in achieving this and I would urge people with concerns around drug dealing to call 101 to report it."
