West Midlands Police inspector charged over child images

A West Midlands Police inspector has been charged with possessing indecent images of children.

Lee Bartram, aged 44, was arrested at his home on Monday and charged on Wednesday evening.

He has been charged with five counts of making an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child and two counts of distributing an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child.

Bartram, who is an inspector based in Birmingham city centre, has been suspended by West Midlands Police while proceedings continue.

Bartram was due to appear at Walsall Magistrates Court this morning.

The case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct by West Midlands Police.
