Boy, 16, charged after Walsall crash left teenager dead

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a crash killed a teenager and injured two others.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear in court on Monday over the collision in Walsall which left a 17-year-old boy dead, West Midlands Police said.

Two 14-year-old girls travelling in the Volkswagen Golf were also injured when it crashed into parked vehicles in Weston Street at 12.10am on Thursday, according to officers.

The boy who died was from Malvern, Worcestershire, and is also believed to have been a passenger.

The 16-year-old will also appear at Dudley Magistrates' Court charged with driving without a licence, having no insurance and failing to stop at the scene.
