Teenager shot in the face with BB gun in Walsall street
A teenager was shot in the face with a BB gun and struck with a machete in a Walsall street.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of wounding after the attack, in Gladstone Street, at 8.15pm on Monday.
Police were called by a 19-year-old saying he had been attacked by two men, and armed officers were sent to the scene.
The teenage victim needed stitches for a head wound.
Two men aged 23 and 21 − who are understood to be known to the victim − were detained and then arrested on suspicion of wounding and remain in police custody.
Earlier that evening armed cops were called, to Anderton Road, in Sparkbrook, after a member of the public reported seeing two men confront each other with machetes.
A 22-year-old man was arrested shortly after in Fallows Road on suspicion of affray and also failing to attend Birmingham Magistrates' Court on July 19 on another matter. He remains in police custody.
And in a separate incident police were called to Paddy Power bookmakers in Soho Road, Handsworth, at 10.20am on the same day following 999 reports of a man threatening customers with a hammer.
A man was arrested nearby on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and a rucksack recovered that was found to contain knives and hammers.
