Man charged with murder seven months after Cradley Heath stabbing
A man has been charged with the murder of Martin Biggs seven months after he was stabbed to death at his Black Country home.
Karl Glancey was this morning charged with killing the father-of-four, who was found with multiple stab wounds at his house in Corngreaves Walk, Cradley Heath, on November 12 last year.
Glancey, aged 44 and from Tividale, was arrested on the same day but was sectioned and detectives had to wait several months to question him.
He is also accused of two counts of attempted murder and one of wounding in connection with domestic incidents in Dingle Avenue, Cradley Heath, and Poplar Close and West Avenue, Tividale.
All of the attacks happened within hours of each other on or around November 12.
Mr Biggs was aged 47 and had four children but lived alone with his dog in the quiet cul-de-sac off Corngreaves Road.
He was described as 'the nicest person you could ever meet' by friend Stuart Archer and more than £700 was raised by friends and family for Mr Biggs' funeral.
Another friend, Kieron Ratcliffe, 23, said: "He was always laughing and joking. He had a very dry sense of humour.
"He loved going out to play bingo and he just didn't have a bad bone in his body.
"He was a true friend and even though we aren't a big circle we were like family."
An inquest on Mr Biggs was opened and adjourned in February.
Glancey was due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court today.
