Armed police sent to Willenhall but 'shotgun' turns out to be air rifle
Armed police swooped on a home in Willenhall after reports of a shotgun but only found an air rifle.
Officers dressed in black descended on residential Wordsworth Road with dogs, guns and shields this afternoon.
Police were alerted at 12.10pm after a social care worker reported seeing a shotgun and cartridges in a bag while carrying out a welfare check at a house on the street.
West Midlands Police said they attended, contained the area and closed nearby streets as a precaution before armed officers moved in. The firearm was found to be an air rifle.
Two men aged 30 and 18 were spoken to but no arrests were made.
The force closed nearby Coleridge Close and Shelly Road during the incident..
