Massive machete seized after Wolverhampton city centre row
An 18-inch machete was seized by police after a row involving up to 20 children in Wolverhampton city centre.
Police received multiple calls to a fight in Queen Street, where stunned onlookers watched the disorder unfold at around 4pm today.
More than a dozen officers rushed to the scene and a 19-year-old man was arrested in nearby Garrick Street, outside the closed Faces nightclub.
The foot-and-a-half long blade was found in the teenager's bag.
WV and WS Response Team tweeted about the incident and posted a photo of the giant knife.
The tweet said: "A unit response and town centre officers respond to a report of a fight in Queen Street, Wolverhampton.
"Machete with 18 inch blade. Why?"
Police left the scene by 4.30pm.
No-one was injured.
