Masked raiders chased off after shop worker has liquid sprayed in face
Masked robbers brandished a knife before spraying liquid into the face of a shop worker during an attempted raid.
But they got more than they bargained for after the worker chased them out of the Great Barr store.
Police were called to Hamstead News and Booze, in Hamstead Road, at around 12.50pm on Monday.
Two masked offenders - one armed with a knife - entered the shop and sprayed a worker in the face with a 'non-acidic substance' while demanding money from the till.
The worker was unhurt and chased the offenders out of the shop without anything being stolen, say police.
