Dudley police hunt for machete-wielding suspect after Buffery Road crash chaos
A manhunt is under way after a car hit a man before a machete-wielding suspect fled the scene.
Eyewitnesses have spoken out after the crash in Dudley on Thursday afternoon.
Armed police officers swooped to the scene in Buffery Road around 3.25pm.
The victim, a man believed to be in his 50s, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham, after being badly injured.

A dog was believed to have also been injured in the collision – but was said to have been given a check up by vets and later released.
West Midlands Police say a search is ongoing for the suspect and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
Police spokesman Craig Hughes said: "We are actively seeking to identify the suspect and anyone with information can call police on 101."
A bystander, who wished to remain anonymous, said it was her partner's father who was 'crushed' by the car.
She said: "I saw it, I was in shock. Everyone heard it in the street. I was screaming and then everyone came out.
"The armed police came out. They came to the street there was lots of them. There were too many to count. They just came walking with their guns."
Residents also told of the drama unfolding as neighbours screamed with disbelief at the scene.
Forensic crime scene investigators were last night gathering evidence to understand the circumstances of the sequence of events.
They were seen to be photographing the position of the cars, including a black Renault Megane, whilst also marking out the crime scene.
Buffery Road was taped off by police until around 11.30pm when the cordon was lifted.
A police incident support unit was also present at the scene.
