Schoolboys mugged for a pound by masked gang in Halesowen

Two schoolboys were attacked by a group of masked men - with the thugs shoving the pair to the ground before making off with just a pound.

The attack happened as the 12-year-old boys were making their way home from school in Halesowen last week.

Police say the pair were walking through the subway under the Queensway at Great Cornbow when they were confronted.

The gang were wearing scarves and balaclavas when the approached the boys.

Police say the boys were pushed to the ground.

The attackers, who were described as black and aged around 18, forcefully searched the boys’ pockets and took a pound coin from one of them.

The boys then started to shout for help and the youths ran off.

The attack happened between 3.20pm and 4.10pm on March 29.

Pc Luke Nagington, of Brierley Hill Response Team, said: “One of the boys sustained cuts and grazes and both of them were very shaken by what happened."
