Masked men burst into Spar shop during armed raid in Dudley
Police are investigating an armed robbery after three masked men stole cash from a Dudley store.
Three raiders armed with a crowbar and wooden bat entered the Spar shop, in Russells Hall Road, on the Russells Hall estate, before jumping over the counter and forcing the till open.
The men then stolen a quantity of cash before fleeing the scene.
West Midlands Police has launched an investigation into the incident which happened just after 10.30pm on Sunday night.
Councillor Cathryn Bayton, who represents St James's ward where the shop is based, said: "There have been a number of unpleasant robberies at this Spar during the last 18 months.
"Staff have been very upset by the whole experience, understandably so.
"We did ask police at one point to carry out extra patrols which they did, but with shrinking resources it wasn't something they could maintain.
"The shops are a little bit isolated which does make them a vulnerable target."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting crime reference number 20DY/67042B/18.
