Birmingham man arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences
A Midland man has been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences.
West Midlands Police arrested the suspect, a 21-year-old man from Birmingham, today.
He was arrested from his home address on suspicion of 'preparing for terrorist acts', say Counter Terrorism officers.
The Birmingham suspect, and another of the same age from Leicester, were today being questioned at a police station in the West Midlands after being detained under PACE legislation.
The arrests were intelligence-led and there was no immediate threat to the public, says the force.
