Murder probe after man dies from gunshot wound
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man found with a gunshot wound at a house in Birmingham.
Police were called to an address in Parkhouse Drive, Erdington, at 10pm on Friday after the 31-year-old man was found critically injured.
Firearms officers sent to the scene provided emergency first aid before the man was taken to hospital.
He was placed on a life support machine but was pronounced dead at 6pm on Saturday.
A man aged 30 and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in Parkhouse Drive in connection with the man’s death and remain in police custody for questioning.
Two properties in the street were sealed off to allow police specialists to search the house and for a full forensic examination.
Detective Chief Inspector Edward Foster of the West Midlands Police Homicide Unit, said: “We are conducting house-to-house enquiries and have already spoken to several potentially key witnesses.
“But we’d ask anyone who’s not yet spoken to us – who lives nearby, was in the area or has information about what happened – to get in touch as they could have seen or heard something important.”
