Georgina Henhsaw left pub worker Philip Rolfe for dead after stabbing him with a knife.

But she appeared shocked when arrested on suspicion of murder, having already calmly let police into her home.

After killing him Henshaw had text messaged Philip, saying ‘hey babe, you ok, why you not answering me’.

The messages, along with several sent to a friend saying what she would do, helped convict her.

Officers were also able to trace Henshaw, 36, to her home in Alder Drive in Chelmsley Wood in Birmingham, where she was arrested.

She calmly lets police through her front door and looks shocked as she asks officers if Mr Rolfe, aged 65, is dead.

Police tell Henshaw she is under arrest

Yesterday, Henshaw, who was spotted ditching a knife by a witness, started a life sentence with a minimum term of 16 years.

She was convicted of murder at Birmingham Crown Court. Other text messages used to convict her included ones she sent to a friend telling them her plan to ‘lure him over and ruin him’. She was also spotted ditching a knife by a witness.

She claimed Mr Rolph had put a knife to her throat in the days leading up to the killing. But the matter was not reported to police.

Henshaw is handcuffed

“This was a calculated, pre-meditated murder where the text messages recovered from the killer’s phone clearly demonstrated her desire to murder Mr Rolph,” said Detective Sergeant Nick Barnes.

“She has never shown any remorse. The text messages were conclusive and damning evidence, which clearly helped the jury to come to the natural conclusion that she was the only person responsible.”

In a statement, the family of Mr Rolph said: “Our father did nothing more other than to help her when she repaid him by stabbing him to death.

“We find some peace in the right verdict being reached in this court case and the person responsible has been convicted of the crime she has committed, however no sentence issued will bring our father, grandfather and brother back.”
