Mourners have left flowers, candles, cuddly toys and balloons in Kent Road, Wolverhampton following the schoolgirl's death, creating a sea of colour in the centre of a heartbroken and shocked community.

Jasmine's father, Simeon Forrester, was one of many to pay tribute, leaving flowers and a message reading: "My shining star: Things will never be the same, my heart is broken. I will never forget you Jasmine. I will always love you. Love, Dad."

A giant teddy bear sat by the front door of the property, while a Disney princess balloon was tied to a lamppost just in front of the house.

One message, attached to a bunch of flowers, was marked 'from Julie - Scarlett's nanny' and read: "RIP beautiful angel. Play free in paradise."

A family in nearby Myatt Avenue left their message saying: "Such a brave girl. We hope God sends all the angels to look after you."

And classmate 'Alexie H' wrote on her gift: "To a beautiful friend Jasmine. I will miss your beautiful smile and I will never forget you."

The Forresters' were described by neighbours as 'very religious' and 'a Christian family'. St Martin's Church in Dixon Street placed a wooden cross and flowers outside the home Jasmine was stabbed, with a message reading: "St Martin's Church will be praying for everybody at this difficult time".

Friends and neighbours were spotted standing in front of the home yesterday, reading the many messages left to Jasmine and her family.

Howell Road Allotments said: "Our thoughts are with you at this sad time", while an anonymous note written on a bouquet of tulips added: "Sleep tight Jazzy. We miss you."

Jasmine's uncle Delroy Forrester, 51, of Lower Villiers Street in Blakenhall was charged with his niece's murder on Saturday night.
