Teenagers injured in Wolverhampton double stabbing
Two teenagers were injured following a double stabbing in Wolverhampton.
A 14-year-old boy was seriously hurt after being stabbed in the stomach. He was in a critical but stable condition in hospital on Friday evening.
Another boy, aged 15, was also taken to hospital after suffering wounds to his hand and leg.
Police were initially called to reports of a stabbing in Ashland Street, Pennfields, at around 7pm on Friday, where the 15-year-old had been hurt.
Officers were then directed to nearby Owen Road by paramedics where the younger boy was found with serious injuries.
Another 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of affray and is due to be interviewed by police.
A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: "The investigation is in its early stages and officers are looking at CCTV, speaking to witnesses and carrying out reassurance patrols.
"Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting log 2183 of January 26, 2018."
A man who lives in Ashland Street, and did not want to be named, said: "I saw kids were fighting and one got stabbed down by the butchers.
"The another one got stabbed. I saw him on the floor kneeling down.
"It was just kids going round and doing stupid things. I didn't know it was serious."
A woman, who asked to remain anonymous, said: "I heard somebody got stabbed but there is always stuff going on around here."
