Man seriously injured after stabbing in Great Barr

A man has been seriously injured after being stabbed in Great Barr.

Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of wounding after the attack.

Officers were called to Shenstone Road at around 3pm today.

The Midlands Air Ambulance was sent to the scene and reportedly landed on playing fields at nearby Ferndale Primary School.

The 27-year-old man suffered two stab wounds to his body and he was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

A woman of the same age was detained by police.

Police say investigations are in an early stage.
