West Bromwich road cordoned off after 'shots fired as group gather armed with knives'

A police investigation has been launched today in West Bromwich after reports of shots being fired and men armed with knives in a street.

Church Lane was cordoned off by police at its junction with Brett Street, near Black Lake, after officers were called at around 9.30am.

Police believe a group of men made off in a van and a car from the scene.

No injuries have been reported at this stage.

The area has been cordoned off for forensic searches and inquiries are ongoing in the area.
