Teenager from Birmingham charged with terror offences
A teenage boy from the West Midlands has been charged with terrorism offences.
The 15-year-old, from Birmingham, has been charged with one count of preparing for terrorist acts under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 after attempting to travel.
He is due to appear before Birmingham Youth Court on November 27.
Detectives from West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit detained the teenager at Birmingham Airport on June 12 after he was reported missing by his family.
The arrest was intelligence-led and there was no immediate threat to the public.
