'We're the police': What BURGLARS told Dudley woman, 89, during raid
Two burglars broke into an elderly Dudley woman's home while she was sleeping - and then pretended to be police officers.
The 89-year-old resident was disturbed by the men after they forced the back door of her home in Russells Hall Road.
The intruders told her they were police officers and began searching her bedroom drawers. The woman challenged the duo and they fled empty-handed.
Police have released an image of the car they are believed to have used.
The woman was not physically injured but suffered a panic attack and remains very shaken by what happened, according to West Midlands Police.
Officers are now appealing for information following the burglary at around 12.40pm on August 2.
Witnesses have indicated to police that three white men made off from the premises in a grey Audi A3 with partial registration B17 NW.
A spokesman said: "One offender has been described as 6ft tall, aged in his late 20s and chubby. He was wearing a light blue baseball cap, navy bomber jacket, navy jogging bottoms and black gloves with white on the knuckles.
"A second man is described as 5ft 8ins tall and slim. He had a pencil thin beard and was wearing a black waterproof jacket and grey jogging bottoms.
"There is a limited description for the third, but it is understood he was around 6ft tall, chubby and wearing dark clothing."
