Stourbridge Chicago's murder: Three teenagers arrested on suspicion of killing Ryan Passey

Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death at a bar in Stourbridge.

Ryan Passey was left with a stab wound to the chest in the attack in Chicago's early yesterday morning. The 24-year-old died in hospital later.

Today police revealed that one man aged 19 had handed himself in at West Bromwich police station at 3pm yesterday. The other suspects, also aged 19, were arrested at separate home addresses in Dudley later in the evening.

DCI Ed Foster said: “We’ve made quick progress in this investigation and three suspects are now in police custody for questioning over the murder.

“We’ve already spoken to many people who were at the bar at the time Mr Passey was attacked – around 1am – but we still need more witnesses to come forward.

“If you saw what happened or have any information that could help then enquiry then please call us. The information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could prove crucial to the enquiry.”

Anyone with information is urged to call West Midlands Police’s Homicide Team on the 101 number (ext 963 3202) quoting log 149 of 6 August.

It is understood Mr Passey, of Stockwell Avenue, Quarry Bank, had played for football club Team Dudley and was an ex-youth player for Stourbridge Football Club.

The club said in a statement: "Everyone at Team Dudley is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former player Ryan Passey.

"Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this time. R.I.P."
