Boys, 12 and 15, arrested over Tipton flats fire drama
Two boys aged 12 and 15 have been arrested in connection with a fire at a block of flats in Tipton which saw tenants having to be rescued from windows.
Around 40 people were evacuated from the Greenlawns flats on Thursday night as part of the building became engulfed by flames.
The two boys, who were arrested on suspicion of arson, have been released on bail while investigations continue, along with another boy, aged 16, who was arrested on Friday over the incident.
Terrified residents feared the incident could have resulted in disaster similar to the Grenfell Tower blaze in London.
Eight people had to climb down ladders which were put up against windows of the four-storey block.
Some tenants stayed with family and friends while three slept at the Tipton Sports Academy leisure centre.
