CCTV appeal after man left unconscious and dog kicked in Walsall
A victim was injured in an unprovoked attack after he stopped to speak with a homeless man and his pet dog.
He was left unconscious and suffered a bleed on the brain and broken cheekbone after being hit in the back of the head.
The thug also attempted to punch the homeless man and kicked his dog during the violence.
Police today released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the attack.
The attack happened in Bridge Street, Walsall, at around 3.15am on Sunday, July 3.
Officers say a 37-year-old man was on his way home following a night out when he stopped to talk to a homeless man he regularly speaks to.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "In an unprovoked attack the suspect ran over and punched the victim in the back of the head. The victim was rendered unconscious and suffered a bleed on the brain and a broken cheekbone.
"The same individual attempted to punch the homeless man and kicked his pet dog causing the dog to be sick, before fleeing in the direction of Lichfield Street."
Officers have reviewed CCTV nearby and would like to speak to this man in connection with what happened.
