Himley Hall stabbing: Man charged with attempted murder after woman and son, 8, injured

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman and her eight-year-old son were stabbed at Himley Hall, near Dudley.

Ralph Foster has also been charged with wounding with intent after police were called to the hall at 8pm on Sunday night.

The 55-year-old, from Bayswater Road, Dudley, has also been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, using a motor vehicle without third party insurance, using a motor vehicle without a licence, possession of a bladed item in a public place and interfering with a motor vehicle - endangering a road user.

The woman, aged 30, and boy were taken to Sandwell Hospital for treatment.

Police said their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening and that they were being supported by specialist officers.

Foster has been remanded into custody and will appear before magistrates in Cannock tomorrow morning.
