Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after woman and son, 8, stabbed in Himley
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman and her eight-year-old son were stabbed near Dudley.
Police were called to Dudley Road in Himley shortly before 8pm on Sunday.
The woman, aged 30, and boy were taken to Sandwell Hospital for treatment.
Police said their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening and that they were being supported by specialist officers.
The man arrested remained in custody today as investigations continue.
Detective Inspector Alan Lyford, of Staffordshire Police, said: "I would like to reassure the public that this was not a random attack."
