James Brindley's parents reveal last heartbreaking conversation with son before murder
James Brindley's parents today revealed their last heartbreaking conversation with their son, as footage of his suspected killers was released for the first time.
Mark and Beverley Brindley spoke of their pride in James, who died in their arms after being stabbed in Aldridge last month.
Mr Brindley said: "He started life as a very happy, smiley boy, he was a gorgeous child.
"When he smiled everybody smiled with him.
"He became a cheeky, mischievous little boy and he carried this with him through to his adult life.
"He had a serious side to him and he was a very loyal, caring person.
"We are very proud of the kind of man he turned into.
"He made so many sacrifices over the last 13 months to achieve his dream.
"He was so proud and wouldn't ask us for anything.
"We were there to support him and he knew that but he had his finances in order and was in the process of getting planning permission from Walsall Council to open his shop."
"He rarely went out so this evening was a rare occasion.
"He would rather put his money towards his shop than go out drinking, he rarely drank."

Mother Beverley added: "He had a modelling job offer but this wasn't something that he chased, it just came to him.
"He had aspirations to open a health food store, he was very conscious of being in good health and wanted to help people who trained or went to the gym.
"He was very committed to that."
"On the night he went out he said I am just popping out and we said that we would probably be in bed by the time he got back and we told him to take care."
Her husband added: "His sister has taken this pretty badly.
"We are just living day to day, it is up and down according to what we see and hear, anything can change our mood dramatically.
"We are strong one minute and then the next we are not."
Appealing for the public's help in catching the killers, he said: "If you know anything, no matter how trivial it may appear please come forward.
"As a family we need to know and so does the community.
"There does seem to be a large amount of serious crimes at the moment and something does need to be done for sure, but I don't have the answers."
