Walsall paedophile 'destroyed girl's childhood' with long-term abuse
A pervert who ruined the life of a girl with a persistent campaign of sexual abuse has been sentenced to 13 years in jail.

Michael Fallon targeted the victim when she was around seven years old and continued to abuse her for 10 years, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.
The 32-year-old raped the girl when she was about 16 as the prolonged period of sexual abuse became a ‘force of habit’ for him, said Mr Harpreet Sandhu, prosecuting.
It started in 1999 but police were not told until 2014. Mr Sandhu concluded: “She continues to think about the abuse first thing in the morning and last thing at night. It consumes her thinking.”
She said: “I used to be a cheerful, friendly, outgoing individual but he has taken all of that away from me.”
Fallon, from Pershore Road, Mossley, Bloxwich, denied the offences but, after a trial, was found guilty of nine charges of indecent assault, assault by penetration and rape.
He was jailed by Judge Barry Berlin, who told the defendant: “Your behaviour was persistent and your actions terrified her. There was a significant degree of planning.
“The offending continued over a long period, destroyed her childhood and caused her permanent psychological damage. It was a dreadful case.”
Fallon was also made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
