Teenager on bike died after being hit by car
A 15-year-old boy died after being struck by a car while on an off-road bike, a coroner heard.
Sean Purchase, from Great Barr, suffered fatal injuries after the collision in Kingstanding on February.
The teenager was taken to hospital, but later died.
At an inquest at Birmingham Coroners' Court last week, area coroner Emma Brown heard how the car, a Vauxhall Astra, was travelling six miles above the speed limit.
But she said the collision was 'inevitable'.
She said the teenager died as a result of a road traffic collision.
At the time of his death, Sean's family said: “Sean was the strongest person anyone could meet and we are so proud of him and have been truly blessed to have him in our lives.
"Life will never be the same for all his family and friends however his kind nature and awesome sense of humour will never leave our hearts.
“As a family we would like to thank everyone for their kind words and support at this devastating time.”
