Six revolvers seized from car after armed police swoop in Aldridge

Six revolvers were seized from a car after it was stopped by armed officers, police have today revealed.

The car was forced to stop in Little Aston Road in Aldridge, Walsall, yesterday by trained firearms officers who used special rounds to deflates its tyres.

Two men in their 40s were arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms and the guns were recovered. The men have since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The incident happened at around 1.20pm on Tuesday as part of an intelligence-led operation.

Yesterday, the West Midlands Police account for Brownhills posted on Twitter: "West Midlands Police firearms officers carried out an enforced stop on a vehicle in Aldridge today. No danger to the public and all in order."

The force confirmed the incident was not terror related. Anyone with any information can call the police on 101.
