Man charged for school knife incident

A man has been charged for allegedly carrying a knife outside of a school.

Staffordshire Police pursued a suspect to Stafford Services on the M6 on Wednesday afternoon and made an arrest.

Valentin Burlui was subsequently detained and charged with one count of assault by beating and one count of possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

It was in connection with an incident which took place outside Packmoor Ormiston Academy, in Stoke-on-Trent, earlier that morning.

Burlui, aged 38, and from Russell Road, Stoke-on-Trent, is due to appear before magistrates this morning.
