Robbery at Wolverhampton Co-op

Three men threatened staff at a Co-op shop with a weapon before making off with cash.

The robbery took place at the Co-op in Tettenhall Road, Newbridge, around 6am yesterday.

Police officers attended following reports that three men had threatened staff with a bladed weapon and demanded the money.

The men are understood to have escaped in a vehicle.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police confirmed an investigation has now been launched.
