The intruders ran off to a car which they had left on the drive, but they were eventually traced and arrested.

The workshop at a garage in Whittington Road, Oswestry, was also broken into and a large quantity of Michelin and Yokohama tyres were stolen between 6pm on February 1 and 7.50am on February 2.

A similar raid took place during the early hours of February 3 at a tyre depot in Stafford Park, Telford. Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org
