Stafford Co-op shop targeted by balaclava-clad thieves in armed raid

Balaclava-clad thieves stole cash, booze and cigarettes during an armed raid on a shop in Stafford.

Police believe one of the group had a firearm and another a bladed weapon as they set out to target the store yesterday.

Staffordshire Police say the raid happened around 9pm at the Cooperative Food store, in Holmcroft Road.

Three white men approached the store on foot.

They took a 'large quantity of cash' along with alcohol and cigarettes.

Police believe they then made off on foot and were seen heading towards Eccleshall Road.
