Gang steal mobile phones worth £60k in raid on Black Country business
A gang of up to eight people stole thousands of mobile phones worth around £60,000 from a Black Country shop.
West Midlands Police has appealed for information following the burglary from Euro Communications Distribution (ECD) Ltd, at Wednesfield Business Park.
The robbery happened sometime between December 10 and December 12.
A spokesman for the force said: "ECD Ltd in Waddens Brook Lane, Wednesfield, was broken into and a large amount of stock was stolen.
"Over 5,000 mobiles phones valued at around £60,000 were stolen by a group of up to eight people.
"Many of the stolen phones were Blackberry mobiles with the European-style keyboard of 'AZERTY' as opposed to the UK version, which is a 'QWERTY' keyboard.
"A white Mercedes van with blacked out windows is believed to have been used in the theft."
Officers are appealing for anyone with information, or would like speak to anyone who has been offered a phone with an AZERTY keyboard, in Wolverhampton, to come forward.
