Conmen with fake £20 notes reported in Cannock

Conmen trying to exchange a large amount of fake £20 notes have been reported in Cannock.

Two men, thought to be Eastern European, targeted a newsagent and a coffee shop on North Street on Thursday.

Both of them were wearing dark clothing while one had a cap on and the other had a backpack.

After leaving the shop they were spotted heading towards the A5 Watling Street.

Staffordshire Police spokesman Ash Connor said: "We have received reports of two males entering shops in the Cannock area trying to swap what is thought to be large amounts of fake £20 notes.

"Could you please be on your guard and report any sightings of these males to Staffordshire Police."
